I’ve really enjoyed taking Web I at FSU so far, but it is challenging for me. All of the tutorials posted have been really helpful to me. However, several times while working on the assignments I’ve had to stop and start completely over because there were errors in the code, but they were so small that I couldn’t easily find them. Overall, I’m happy with the progress I’ve made and can’t wait to learn more!
At the end of this semester, I hope to have gained enough knowledge about web design in order to keep running this site as a blog and build a separate address as a professional portfolio site. I want to keep the “inspiration blog” because I like the idea of having an virtual record of what is inspiring me and trending me in my graphic design work. Also, within the next year I’d like to start doing freelance graphic design, so I need to have a website that displays all of my work and details my accomplishments in order to get clients. Eventually I’d like to launch an etsy store to sell some of my screen prints and I think that the skills I learn in this class will help me with that too. All in all, I hope to come out of this class with the skills to create sites to better market myself in the design world.
I am currently enrolled in CGS2821 (Intro to Web Design) at FSU, but prior to this I am sad to admit I have absolutely NO web design or development experience. I do however, have experience with computers and using the Adobe suite. Although my major is Graphic Design, my concentration is in alternative photography. Hello! This is my first post on WordPress, welcome to the site! I am a graphic design student at FSU and as I explore the internet, I’ll be using this page as my virtual sketch book where I will post my own work as well as collect images to inspire, D.I.Y. project ideas, and all things pretty. In addition to graphic design, I have recently been experimenting with screen printing so I will also be keeping my eye out for new and interesting things to try out in the world of print!
